A circle of erect stones, man-made (although there are those who defend that its construction has an extra-terrestrial origin), Stonehenge is one of the most interesting places that I have known. One of the 7 wonders of the medieval world, Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in England, added to the UNESCO World Heritage list and located near the cities of Amesbury and Salisbury.

Um círculo de pedras eretas, feitas pelo homem (embora existam aqueles que defendem que sua construção tenha origem extraterrestre), Stonehenge é um dos lugares mais interessantes que conheci. Uma das 7 maravilhas do mundo medieval, Stonehenge é um monumento pré-histórico na Inglaterra, adicionado à lista de Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO e localizado perto das cidades de Amesbury e Salisbury.

A series of myths surround the stones - some believes that the monument was used as an astronomical observatory, a calendar, or as a religious site for sacrifice to the Gods, but its design includes a celestial observatory function, and this is what most fascinated me - to think that about 4,000 years ago, people were observing the sky, studying celestial events, and building a monument of that dimension to study these events.

Uma série de mitos cercam as pedras - alguns acreditam que o monumento era usado como um observatório astronômico, um calendário ou como um site religioso para sacrifício aos deuses, mas seu design inclui uma função de observatório celestial, e isso é o que mais me fascinou - pensar que cerca de 4.000 anos atrás, as pessoas estavam observando o céu, estudando eventos celestiais e construindo um monumento dessa dimensão para estudar esses eventos.

When Stonehenge was first opened to the public, it was possible to walk between and even climb on the rocks, but the privilege was banned due to severe erosion. Visitors are not allowed to touch the stones but are able to walk around the monument at a short distance. However, on the days of the summer and winter solstice (longest and shortest day of the year), and at the spring and autumn equinox, the access is allowed. In addition, it is possible to make special reservations to access the stones throughout the year, but I do not know how much it costs. The regular ticket cost around 15 pounds when I went there.

Quando Stonehenge foi aberto ao público, era possível caminhar entre e até mesmo subir nas pedras, mas a regalia foi banida devido à erosão. Os visitantes não podem tocar as pedras, mas podem caminhar pelo monumento a curta distância. Entretanto, nos dias do solstício de verão e inverno (dia mais longo e mais curto do ano), e no equinócio de primavera e outono, o acesso é permitido. The Stonehenge Festival is a free British festival held at Stonehenge, which culminates in the summer solstice on June 21. The festival is a celebration of several alternative cultures. There is still a hippie community that inhabits the surroundings of the monument. I had the opportunity to meet the camp the second time I was there, my friend Flavia missed the way and we ended up right in the middle of that community. What struck me about this experience was when we approached the camp, a woman signaled for us to slow down. I do not know how to explain, we gave her a kind of aggressive look, like, "What are you doing out there in the middle of the road?" But we were totally disarmed by the light of her smile. We did not need to exchange words, that smile of so much peace touched our hearts... That was my last day in the UK. I would move to Dubai the next day, and chose this tour purposefully, to fill my soul with positive energies. The experience could not have been better... 

O Festival de Stonehenge é um festival britânico gratuito realizado em Stonehenge, que culmina no solstício de verão em 21 de junho. O festival é uma celebração de várias culturas alternativas. Ainda existe uma comunidade hippie que habita os arredores do monumento. Eu tive a oportunidade de conhecer o acampamento na segunda vez que estive lá, minha amiga Flavia errou o caminho e acabamos bem no meio dessa comunidade. O que me impressionou nesta experiência, foi quando nos aproximamos do acampamento, uma mulher sinalizou para que reduzíssemos a velocidade. Eu não sei como explicar, nós lhe demos um olhar meio agressivo, do tipo "o que você está fazendo aí no meio da rua?", Mas fomos totalmente desarmadas pela luz do sorriso dela. Não precisamos trocar palavras, aquele sorriso de tanta paz tocou o nosso coração... Aquele foi o meu último dia no Reino Unido. Eu me mudaria para Dubai no dia seguinte, e escolhi esse passeio propositalmente, para encher minha alma de energias positivas. A experiência não poderia ter sido melhor.

To get to Stonehenge without a car, you need to take a train from London to Salisbury and in Salisbury's train station, a bus to the monument. The stones are situated in the middle of nowhere, on the banks of the A344 motorway, in the English countryside. There you can have an electronic guide in different languages, to allow you to understand all the history and mysticism that surrounds Stonehenge.

As for what to wear to go there, here is the biggest tip - a scarf and a nice coat. Regardless of the season, keep in mind that you are in the UK’s countryside with absolutely nothing around you. The wind is always strong and cold. Nothing better than being prepared for it and enjoying the ride comfortably.

Myths aside, the truth is that this place has a different and intense energy... this tour is worthy for all the reasons. The energy of the place, the acquired culture, as well as the city of Salisbury that is also very graceful...

Malta is a country in the extreme south of Europe, just below Sicily. A beautiful island in the Mediterranean Sea, and one of the smallest countries in the world, where the spoken language is Maltese, people drive in the English hand, and the TV is Italian.

Malta é um país no extremo sul da Europa, logo abaixo da Sicília. Uma bela ilha no Mar Mediterrâneo e um dos menores países do mundo, onde a língua falada é o maltês, as pessoas dirigem na mão inglesa e a TV é italiana.

The island has limestone formation, and has few sandy beaches. In any case, there are natural or man-made platforms in all its extension, facilitating the sea bath in any part of the coast.

A ilha possui formação calcária e tem poucas praias arenosas. De qualquer maneira, existem plataformas naturais ou artificiais em toda sua extensão, facilitando o banho de mar em qualquer parte da costa.

The country has an incredible cultural part, with 3 UNESCO patrimonies in its territory. But when I was there, all I wanted was to escape from the gray days of London and relax in the warm, blue waters of the Mediterranean. And that's exactly what I did ...

The most interesting thing about this trip is that I wanted to explore the island as the locals, take buses, ask for information. It was fun and a lot cheaper, without a doubt.

A coisa mais interessante sobre esta viagem é que eu queria explorar a ilha como os locais, pegar ônibus, pedir informações. Foi divertido e muito mais barato, sem dúvida.

I was staying in Qwara Bay. Although there is no sandy beach on this area, many people swim and bathe from the rocks, which offer ample space for sunbathing. 

Eu estava hospedada na Baía de Qwara. Embora não haja praia de areia nesta área, muitas pessoas nadam e se banham pelas rochas, que oferecem um amplo espaço para tomar sol.

But Malta also has incredible beaches. I decided to visit Paradise beach, at the northern end of the island, which, as the name suggests, could not be better... It is not easy to access it without a car, because the buses take too long to pass, but, honestly, it's worth waiting. The beach is quite small, and the sea of ​​an unforgettable turquoise. There is only one restaurant and one cafeteria there. In addition, you can rent kayaks. The tour is simply unique, because the water is so crystal clear that you can see the bottom of the sea from the surface. 

Mas Malta também tem praias incríveis. Eu decidi visitar a praia do Paraíso, no extremo norte da ilha, o que, como o nome sugere, não poderia ser melhor ... Não é fácil acessá-la sem um carro, porque os ônibus demoram muito para passar, mas sinceramente, vale a pena esperar. A praia é bem pequena, e o mar de um azul turquesa inesquecivel. Há apenas um restaurante e uma cafeteria lá. Além disso, você pode alugar caiaques. O passeio é simplesmente único, porque a água é tão clara que, da superfície, você pode ver o fundo do mar.

The most visited and easiest access beach in Malta, is called Mellieha. Unlike Paradise Beach, Mellieha is a very extensive, white-sand beach with crystal clear water located on the north-west of the Island. There are regular buses every half hour, although in Malta, totally different from London, no one seems very concerned about meeting the schedule, starting with bus drivers. I have some funny stories about it too, but it was the middle of summer, I was on vacation, with no reason to complain. 

A praia mais visitada e de acesso mais fácil em Malta, é chamada de Mellieha. Ao contrário da Paradise Beach, Mellieha é uma praia bem extensa, de areia branca e com águas cristalinas localizadas no noroeste da Ilha. Há ônibus regulares a cada meia hora, embora em Malta, totalmente diferente de Londres, ninguém parece muito preocupado em cumprir o cronograma, começando pelos motoristas de ônibus. Eu tenho algumas histórias engraçadas sobre isso, mas era verão, eu estava de férias, sem motivo para reclamar.

Golden Bay is another beach on Malta's northwestern coast, one of the few sandy beaches. It was formerly known as Military Bay. The white sandy beach gently slopes down the hill, allowing sunbathers to easily walk to the sea. Golden Bay is the most popular tourist beach in the Manikata region. There are located a bus terminal and a parking lot. What fascinated me on this beach is that it is one of the few in the Mediterranean with waves. Of course they are not big waves, but the sound of the water hitting the sand for those who wanted to escape from the noise of a city like London, is a natural relaxer of inestimable value... 

Golden Bay é outra praia na costa noroeste de Malta, uma das poucas praias de areia. Anteriormente era conhecida como Bay Militar. A praia de areia branca inclina-se suavemente sob a colina, permitindo que os banhistas caminhem facilmente para o mar. Golden Bay é a praia turística mais popular da região de Manikata. Há um terminal de ônibus e um estacionamento situados lá. O que me fascinou nesta praia é que é uma das poucas no Mediterrâneo com ondas. Claro que não são grandes ondas, mas o som da água batendo na areia para quem queria escapar do barulho de uma cidade como Londres, é um relaxante natural de valor inestimável ...

Popeye Village, is a group of rustic and ruined wooden buildings located on Anchor Bay in the northwest corner of the island of Malta, near Mellieħa. It was built as a film set for the production of the film Popeye in the 1980s, and today it is open to the public as an open-air museum and family entertainment complex.

Foi construído para a produção do filme Popeye na década de 1980, e hoje está aberto ao público como um museu ao ar livre e um complexo de entretenimento familiar.

Crystal Lagoon and Blue Lagoon are places that, whatever happens, you can not miss visiting in Malta. The only possible access is by boat, but there are daily boats leaving from different points of the island, with destinations for these two beauties built by the hands of God. Ask around, and do not accept the first offer, because prices vary from corner to corner, but, please go to those peaks. They are outstandingly beautiful... 

Crystal Lagoon e Blue Lagoon são lugares que, independente do que aconteça, você não pode deixar de visitar em Malta. O único acesso possível é de barco, mas há barcos diários que saem de diferentes pontos da ilha, com destinos para essas duas belezas construídas pelas mãos de Deus. Pergunte ao redor e não aceite a primeira oferta, porque os preços variam de uma esquina pra outra, mas, por favor, vá para esses picos. Eles são extraordinariamente lindos...

Good restaurants, many souvenir shops and an interesting public transiting through the day and night, mostly young. In fact, Malta is a familiar place, but with a variety of bars and small nightclubs for those who want a little less sea and a little more of action.

Bom restaurantes, muitas lojas de souvenirs e um interessante público que transita durante o dia e a noite, principalmente jovens. The cuisine in Malta is basically made of seafood, of course. It is worth to try the giant mussels and the enormous diversity of fresh fish and crustaceans brought directly from the sea to the table ...

Regarding what to take to this adventure, the most important tip is: diving shoes. You will not take a step on those rocks if you do not have one. Many souvenir shops sell them at prices ranging from 8 to 30 euros on average. It is the best investment you will make in Malta. I was there in the summer and the temperature during the day reached 38, 39 degrees Celsius, so do not forget the sunscreen too. Enjoy!!! 

Quanto ao que levar a esta aventura, a dica mais importante é: sapatos de mergulho. Você não dará um passo sobre essas rochas se você não os tiver. Muitas lojas de souvenirs os vendem a preços variando de 8 a 30 euros em média. É o melhor investimento que você vai fazer em Malta. Eu estava lá no verão e a temperatura durante o dia chegou a 38, 39 graus Celsius, então não se esqueça do protetor solar também. Aproveite!!!
